Are you receiving tax credits and giving to the church, or other charities? Do you know that Gift Aiding not only benefits the church but also increases your tax credits.? Hello everyone, For those who have collected our weekly News Update in recent months you will have seen an article written by Gavin and then one written by me, on the topic of stewardship.
I am the PCC member with responsibility for stewardship. It is my job to inform the Church members on how our money is spent, and to encourage Church members to give so that we can undertake all the things we do. I will be doing more in the coming months to explain how we spend the money you give.
It is my hope that one-day we will not have to have collections during our worship – at least not the way we currently do them. Collections feel awkward for some of us who give by planned giving and for newcomers who didn’t bring any cash and don’t know how we do things.
Thanks to good old VistaPrint we’ve produced some new welcome cards as well as cards that explain a bit about giving and teams in the church. How they manage to do 50 large-sized full-colour postcards for just over £4 including postage is beyond me! (btw: the typo was corrected before printing – can you spot it? Ed.) |
